Mental Health Counseling |
There are many counselors available to you through Lifeways, for any problem imaginable. They are all qualified, Masters level therapists, and many have specialties. Dual diagnosis (both mental health and alcohol or drug related diagnoses) can be treated simultaneously.
Psychiatric Services |
Lifeways has two psychiatrists on staff, who work closely with the mental health counselors to deliver appropriate services, manage medication and make referrals. The psychiatric nurse assists with care, management and scheduling.

Community Support Services (CSS) |
CSS assists seriously and persistently mentally ill people with daily living functions. These can include financial management, transportation, medication management, and housing, and more. Services are according to the needs of the client.
Intensive Children’s Treatment (ICTS) |
Children who are at risk of being hospitalized can remain in the community and receive services through the ICTS program. Using Community Resource Teams, all agencies and people important to the child and family come together to integrate and monitor plans and treatment.

Lifespan Respite |
People who care for a loved one 24/7 need a break in order to continue giving that care. Family care is better quality care, more comfortable and more economical than institutional care. Lifespan Respite recruits, screens and maintains a list of potential care providers for the family caregiver to employ. Sometimes Lifespan can help pay the provider, too.

Groups |
There are always groups being offered at Lifeways, for all purposes. This link will take you to the current list, which changes from time to time. If you have need of a group that is not listed, please let us know.

Developmental Disabilities |
DD services are for disabilities related to mental retardation (IQ of 69 or below). Once eligible, clients may receive case management, residential and/or vocational services. This program is different from (and in addition to) Social Security programs and is not based on family income.

Supported Employment |
Lifeways helps people with psychiatric disabilities compete in the open marketplace for jobs that pay at least minimum wage, and then helps them keep those jobs.

Alcohol and Drug Groups |
Sometimes the most effective way to deal with substance abuse is in a group, either instead of or in addition to individual counseling. Most often people are court-ordered to attend, but there are also aftercare groups.

Problem Gambling |
Our gambling treatment expert says, “video poker is the crack cocaine of gambling,” although there are many other forms of problem gambling. If you are concerned about these behaviors, e-mail or call for help. All treatment is free to both the gambler and family members.
