News Release – June 2005

 

Lifeways Umatilla is pleased to announce the addition of Liz Pearson, LCSW, as the Mental Health Operations Manager. She will be in charge of all mental health operations serving Umatilla County residents.

 

Pearson, age 54, obtained her BS degree in Psychology from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She received her Masters in Social Work at Ohio State University in Columbus. She moved to Pendleton in 1975 and worked for several years at St. Anthony Hospital. Most of her career has involved working with persons with serious and persistent mental illness. She worked for 25 years at Eastern Oregon Psychiatric Center as a social worker and manager of rehabilitative services.

 

“As a long term member of this community and a long term employee within the mental health system, I look forward to connecting with community partners in the ongoing effort to develop prompt, competent, beneficial, and cost-effective mental health services in the region.”

Pearson is married and has two grown children.

 

On April 1st of 2005, Lifeways Umatilla, Inc., took over operations of the public mental health program through a contract with the state and Greater Oregon Behavioral Health. Lifeways provides public mental health services in Umatilla and Malheur Counties.
