Ron Van AusdalDavid Tovar

Meet Ron Van Ausdal, our new Outpatient Program Administrator in the Ontario office.  Ron grew up in Nevada and moved to the Treasure Valley 10 years ago with his wife and daughter.

Ron graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology.  After moving to the Treasure Valley, he worked as a Psychosocial Rehabilitationist (PSR), a team leader, and later as a PSR program administrator.  In 2013, Ron graduated with his Master’s in clinical social work from Northwest Nazarene University.  In 2015, Ron joined the Lifeways team in Fruitland.  He then moved to the Ontario office where he took on a supervisor roll before becoming the Outpatient Program Administrator.  Ron is known for his calming demeanor, holding to ethical guidelines, understanding policies and procedures, and an ability to build team morale and unity.

In his spare time, he likes woodworking, camping, snorkeling and scuba diving with his family. Over the course of Ron’s professional career, he has been driven and has established strong talents for helping individual clients, families and working with company programs which impact client care.

Meet David! He is the Crisis and Jail Diversion Supervisor here at Lifeways and has been since 2017. David has worked in the field of mental health since 2010 in various settings and areas, and came to Lifeways from Idaho when he worked in Program Coordination, Case Management and Residential Habilitation. Since being at Lifeways he has experienced an incredible amount of opportunities for growth. In 2015, he worked on the Lifeways ACM/ACT Team as a QMHA & QMHP then served on the Crisis and Adult team as a QMHP which lead him to earning his Masters degree and his current position.

David completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Boise State University in 2015, completed his the Master’s Program in Social Work in 2017 from Northwest Nazarene University and is currently working on his MBA from Boise State with a graduation date of this spring!

He also holds numerous certifications such as a Certified Mental Health Investigator for the State of Oregon, Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA; Oregon) and he is CANS Certified through the State of Oregon.

David is very family oriented and said that he loves just being outdoors. “I have a passion for all things outdoors. I love to camp, hike, fish, and spend time around a campfire. I love attending to the promotion of health and taking time each day to participate in a physical activity. I continue to be very passionate about Wrestling and Baseball (State Champion wrestler). I love the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Lakers!!!!!! Family is very important to me, my 2 black labs (Ruger and Halo) and Girlfriend (Savanna) are a huge part of my life.”
